She has been working in Eyes, JAPAN for around 5 months. We wanted to ask Zhao Hong about her life in Japan, why she came to Japan and what does she think about working in Eyes, JAPAN.
(Interviewer: Angie)
Loves Travelling, Reading, and Photography.
Why did you come to Japan and what do you like about Japan?
Zhao Hong: It is a wonderful fate that I chose to come to Japan. I originally wanted to study in Australia, but due to COVID-19, I applied at the wrong time. Since my master’s supervisor and my current doctoral professor are good friends, I was recommended to come to Japan. What attracts me most in Japan should be the clean environment. I have never been to Japan before, but people around me say that I must go to Japan in my lifetime. You will feel a different Japan from the traditional impression.
What do you think about life in Aizu?
Zhao Hong: I think life in Aizu is comfortable and quiet, and the snow season is a bit long. I was woken up by birdsong and the sun every morning, the road to school was cloudless (when the weather was good), and the scenery was very beautiful. There is too much snow in Aizu. My hometown is in the north of China, and it often snows. But compared with Aizu, it really pales in comparison.
What is your favorite way of spending the weekend or holidays in Aizu?
Zhao Hong: Usually I like to sleep late in the morning. Go shopping in the supermarket at noon, and cook a delicious dinner in the afternoon. Sometimes I invite friends to visit Crane City and experience the scenery in different seasons.
What is your hobby and how do you usually spend your free time?
Zhao Hong: My hobbies are traveling, reading novels and photography. And I usually spend my time by reading novels and playing games for entertainment. I usually like to read science fiction and suspense novels the most. My previous dream was to be a policeman, so I am particularly interested in novels that solve suspenseful cases. Japanese swich is famous all over the world. When I first arrived, I got a newest machine. My favorite game is Mario Kart.
What is your academic background and what kind of research are you doing or have you done before?
Zhao Hong: My research direction is cyberspace security, mainly about key management and privacy protection in wireless networks. I have been engaged in research on this topic since my master’s degree.
Do you have any things or skills that you are proud of?
Zhao Hong: What I am most proud of is the ability to assemble the experimental platform by myself. There is also a persistent spirit, striving to the end for the experimental results.
Love the Small Parties and Apple Picking!

Zhao Hong: I have no experience working in an IT company before. My main work experience before was tutoring homework and sales.
