The special series to put a spotlight on our international staff, “Eyes, JAPAN employee interview” is back! Our 6th interviewee is Satyabrata Pahari from India.

He has been working in Eyes, JAPAN for about 11 months, and now he is mainly involved in the web development projects. We wanted to ask Satya about his life in Japan, why he came to Japan and what does he think about working in Eyes, JAPAN.

Love to Explore the Area!

Which country did you come from, and what do you like about your home country or town?

Satya: I came from India, and one thing that I like the most about India is definitely the food.

Why did you come to Japan and what do you like about Japan?

Satya: I came to Japan because my father’s job. He is working in Japan so my family moved here with him. In general, I love the convenience and culture of the country, but if I have to be specific, I love the toilets.

What do you think about life in Aizu?

Satya: Aizu is much calmer compared to Tokyo where I used to live, so it did take me a bit to get used to, but I’m really into forests and nature so it was extremely fun for me to explore these areas.

What is your favorite way of spending the weekend or holidays in Aizu?

Satya: Aizu consists of a variety of smaller and more local restaurants, which I definitely haven’t heard prior to coming here, so going and visiting different restaurants with my friends during the weekends is pretty fun.

What is your hobby and how do you usually spend your free time?

Satya: Making music is one of my many interests and probably something I have the most fun doing. Other than that, I love walks as well as dancing occasionally as well. I tend to go for long walks in the mountain area with friends which take about 4-5 hours. But if I’m not outdoors, I’m usually on my laptop watching dramas or movies, trying to keep myself busy.

Do you have any things or skills that you are proud of?

Satya: This may not be related to anything technical but I feel like I’ve worked hard on my flexibility and its one of my skills that I’m proud of.

Eyes, JAPAN: Respects Every Individual’s Characteristic

How did you know about Eyes, JAPAN and why did you decide to join Eyes, JAPAN?

Satya: I was recommended to come here by one of my seniors, and I decided to join because I enjoyed the carefree nature and the freedom Eyes, JAPAN gave to its employees.

Could you please let us know your most memorable project in Eyes, JAPAN?

Satya: I would have to say making a website for the first time, mostly because it’s the only project I have worked on but also because I had some prior interest in the field.

What customs in Eyes, JAPAN that you like the most?

Satya: I constantly look forward to the weekly study sessions as it provides me knowledge about something new and interesting each time.

What do you think about your colleagues in Eyes, JAPAN?

Satya: I highly respect my colleagues as not only they are friendly, but also take time out of their busy schedules to help me out as I’m still relatively new.

What about the working environment in Eyes, JAPAN?

Satya: Eyes, JAPAN provide a warm and free environment to work and respects every individual’s special characteristic.

What kind of problems or challenges have you faced while working in Eyes, JAPAN, and how did you solve it?

Satya: Communication was one of the biggest problems I faced during my earlier days, but after making a mistake that could have been easily avoided if I had properly communicated, I made sure to notify even the slightest things to my seniors.

Advice: Don’t Forget to Enjoy Japan!

How do you balance your working and private time?

Satya: I make sure to prioritize my school work and my private life first and then focus on work as I’m still a second year and need to devote more of my time into university work.

What motivates you to keep working and studying?

Satya: Its got to be my curiosity and drive to learn new things as well as meet new people.

Any advice for people who wants to work in Japan?

Satya: Just be sure to strictly follow the deadlines given and respect the senior staff. Other than that, don’t forget to enjoy Japan haha.

What kind of projects do you want to work on in the future?

Satya: I would actually love to keep working on developing websites maybe slightly more advanced ones in the future which involve more coding.

What is your dream?

Satya: It might be really boring but my dream is to just have a stable life where I can enjoy doing new things and keep myself entertained.
