Medical Animations
yingtong
Eyes, JAPAN has received its fourth award for the yearly Aizu-born IT prize just last week for our work on creating a library of medical-related animations in stereo3D.
Let me introduce my work on the medical animations.
We are still in the preparatory stage, and I am required to create one animation in one month. Right now, Meguro-san is here on internship to study about medical-related work, and she helps me out with research into the Japanese market and on various diseases.
With her help, we decide on the topic of the animation, and seek approval from Yamadera-san.
When approved, I get to work on storyboarding, then creating the models to be used in the animation (such as the eyeball above), draw the textures for the models, animate the models and create the camerawork…
When live-action footages are required, I stand in as director to look over while our expert at stereo filming does the actual shooting.
Meanwhile, Meguro-san helps by creating the script for narration, and does the narration under my direction.
When the rendered image sequences from the CG parts, video footages and narration tracks are done, they are handed over to the compositor who puts everything together into an educational animation.
Works we have done so far include “dangers of obesity when giving birth”, “CPR and how to use an AED”, “how to do a breast cancer self-exam”, “cervical cancer” and the newly completed “age-related macular degeneration”.
We are currently looking for professional advice on which diseases/treatments are in demand, and do leave a note if you have anything to offer!
Look forward to more beautiful animations coming up!
