Life is sometimes unhealthy when doing or showing the things unnecessarily complex, therefore, it is worthwhile to expand the efforts for complexity reduction in ahead to capture environmental and social benefits for sustain.

History, as a mirror to the present days, reminds us many a failure, when things or projects, even those originally started with great visions, died in the propagation of complexity. It is painful for researchers being trapped in the NP-hard (NP: nondeterministic polynomial time) problem without being aware of it; and it is the nightmare for engineers to maintain the collapsed system when one bug is introduced by another; It is also frustrated for investors to see the great vision results in the bubble with unfinished works; and the happiness would be merely an illusion when mistake repeats after mistakes.

Hence, I was encouraged adhering to the thoughts of reducing complexity for sustainability, making happiness lasting longer, for the life of others’ and also my own.

Theoretically, there is a notion by A.T. Kearney analysis, the Sustainable Complexity Reduction, explains what I am willing to say:

1) Align requirements with sustainability costs

2) Propagate sustainable design assets

3) Provide transparency into environmental impact

And practically, I am insisting such principles to start the challenge in my daily life.

1) Questioning myself the motivations or general outcomes of expending efforts.

2) Propagate the design or specification based on the accumulated demos or toolbox.

3) Strengthen the control over the elastic plan to allocate my main power towards the visible impact.

Although it is still very far from success, I do believe such principles might help to bring me a sustainable healthier or happier life.
